DIY Rose Oil & Rose Water

HOW TO MAKE ROSE OIL

What You’ll Need

  • 1 cups rose petals (2-3 organic roses)
  • 1 cup grapeseed oil (You can also use jojoba or olive oil)
  • Pot
  • Water
  • Glass jar with lid
  • Sieve

Step 1: Prepare 1 cup of organic rose petals (2-3 roses) and 1 cup of grapeseed oil in a glass jar.
Step 2: Bring a pot of water to a boil. Then remove it from the heat.
Step 3: Shred the petals.
Step 4: Add the petals to the oil.
Step 5: Swirl the petals around in the oil.
Step 6: Cover the jar and place into the hot water. Warming the oil helps release the scent from the petals.
Step 7: When the water cools, remove the jar. Let jar sit for 24 hours or longer (for stronger results).
Step 8: Enjoy! (Optional: Use a sieve to separate the rose petals from the oil before using)

DIY Salt Scrubs: Give the Gift of Healthy, Glowing Skin By Team Ahava

Four Fantastic Recipes To Get You Started

The possibilities are endless when it comes to creating your own salt scrubs. The most important thing is to use natural, quality ingredients, including a very high-quality salt to ensure purity and achieve the best results. While regular salt is known to dry out the skin, Dead Sea salt contains a higher percentage of natural minerals, including magnesium, calcium, and potassium, which actively retain and nourish skin’s natural moisture.

Blood Orange and Vanilla Scrub

1 cup Dead Sea salt

1/2 cup olive oil

1 1/2 tablespoons dried orange zest

1/2 teaspoon blood orange essential oil

1 vanilla bean

In a medium-sized bowl, combine the Dead Sea salt, olive oil, orange zest and essential oil. With a sharp paring knife, split the vanilla bean down the center and scrape the contents into the bowl. Next, finely chop the bean pod and add it to the mix. Combine well then transfer to your chosen container.

Skin Detox Soothing Skin Scrub

1 cup Dead Sea salt

1/2 cup olive oil or liquid coconut oil

40 drops Thieves essential oil blend

Combine all ingredients in a bowl, and transfer to your chosen container.

Snickerdoodle Scrub

1 cup Dead Sea salt

2/3 cup refined coconut oil

1 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (adjust to preference)

Combine all ingredients in a bowl (the coconut oil can be gently heated in a cup placed in hot water to soften). Transfer to your chosen container.

English Garden Scrub

1 cup Dead Sea salt

2/3 cup refined coconut oil

1/2 cup turbinado sugar

1/4 cup dried lavender blossoms

1/4 cup dried rose petals

1/4 teaspoon lavender essential oil

1/4 teaspoon rose essential oil

Combine all ingredients in a bowl (the coconut oil can be gently heated in a cup placed in hot water to soften). Transfer to your chosen container.

Snickerdoodle Scrub

1 cup Dead Sea salt

2/3 cup refined coconut oil

1 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (adjust to preference)

Combine all ingredients in a bowl (the coconut oil can be gently heated in a cup placed in hot water to soften). Transfer to your chosen container.

1/2-1 teaspoon dried rose petals (start low, and you can add as you go if you want more)

1 teaspoon dried lemongrass (same applies as per the rose petals)

Directions:

🌈🌈 Put your dried rose and lemongrass into the glass bottle.

🌈🌈 Add the essential oils.

🌈🌈 Add the base oil.

Recipe Notes:

Screw on your cap, roll the bottle gently between your palms, and voila, Summertime in a bottle! And the beauty of this oil is, like a good wine, it gets better with age. The dried herbs you have added gradually release their aroma into your oil as time passes, fragrance gradually transforms over time. Your body oil won’t smell the same next week as it does today. HOMEMADE WHIPPED BODY BUTTER RECIPE BY LITTLE GREEN DOT

Ingredients:
3/4 cup cocoa butter

1/4 cup coconut oil

Directions:

🍎🍎 In a bain-marie, melt down your hard butters and oils until fully liquid

🍎🍎 Set in the freezer to harden, about 20 minutes.

🍎🍎 Once the mixture is solid again, but not too hard, whip it up using an electric whisk, a food processor with a whisk attachment, or your KitchenAid (lucky you!)

🍎🍎 If you need to, you can use a hand held whisk, and a lot of elbow grease! 🙂

🍎🍎 Whip about 5 minutes, or until you have created fluffy white clouds. Spoon it into a clean jar or container. It will keep for 3 months.

Slather it on!

Recipe Notes:

Cold climates, adjust recipe to 60% cocoa butter, 40% oil so that it’s not as hard.
